Coca-Cola in North West Europe and Nordics

Our North West Europe and Nordics business unit covers 10 countries. It includes 180 million potential customers and accounts for 35% of Coca-Cola product sales in Europe. We call it NWEN for short.

This business unit includes Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Great Britain, Iceland, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.

Our north west Europe offices

This business unit's four biggest offices are located in some of the region's most exciting cities:

  • Brussels
  • Copenhagen
  • London
  • Paris

With further offices in Dublin, Helsinki, Oslo, Rotterdam and Stockholm, a job in this business unit could see you based in one of Europe's cultural hot spots.

Our people

In all, 350 people work in this business unit (with a further 150 Europe Group employees also based in this geography). And they're all generally very positive - in fact, several of our offices have been recognised by the Great Place to Work Institute.

What's our secret formula? For starters, in some locations our employee benefits include perks like flexible working, gym access and learning allowances. We take care of the smaller things too - for instance, cooking up fresh, tasty food in our staff restaurants or providing free product for our employees.

But, most importantly, we trust our people, we respect them - and we treat them well. It's not rocket science.

Central support

Our staff get plenty of chances to travel and mix with each other. The business unit is organised so central functions - like marketing, HR and strategic planning - support local operations. This means people from different offices work together to pool resources and expertise in these key areas.

This business unit also influences the company's wider marketing strategy. To keep things simple and consistent, brand plans and ideas created here are often adopted across Europe.

Of course, this approach has benefits for our people as well as the business itself. Join us and you'll get lots of chances to work with new people in different places. Sure, it demands commitment, but the experience is great for career opportunities.

A local flavour

We rely on local knowledge to put our marketing plans into practice effectively. Four local operations teams are given the job of thinking about the specific needs of each location, then activating our plans so they can be implemented locally.

For example, each local operations team would take the business unit's overall marketing plan and work out how to achieve its objectives locally by working with that region's bottling partner.

This team also takes charge of on-the-ground initiatives like corporate social responsibility, commercial development and key account management. That can involve all sorts of interesting stuff - just ask our team in Great Britain, who are getting fired up about sponsoring the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Bottling partners

We work with three bottling partners who produce, package and distribute our drinks:

Finally, the North West Europe and Nordics business unit is home to our Regional Finance Centre. Located north of Dublin in Drogheda, Ireland, this brings together all the company's accounting for Europe and Asia. When it comes to numbers, those guys know their stuff.
