Coca-Cola in Germany
With its population of 82 million people and accounting for 15% of our total European sales, Germany is one of our largest markets. Covering the whole of the country, the Germany business unit is based in Berlin and employs 150 people.
Our people
We've made a real effort to keep the structure of this business unit fairly flat. This means that although our employees are split into key areas like marketing, finance and strategic planning, it's easy for them to work together across these groups. In fact, we do everything we can to encourage this.
If you join our Germany business unit, you'll see first hand how we work hard to encourage and make possible flexible working. We also provide regular health examinations for our staff, run a program called Mama-Papa Kind to support working parents and encourage our employees to have active lifestyles. We believe healthy, happy people make for a healthy, profitable company.
Our initiatives
We're not afraid to experiment in this business unit. And past ideas have been very successful: we invented Fanta and Sprite, two beverages which have gone on to be best sellers across the world.
We also take an inventive, yet co-ordinated approach to marketing. As well as developing the marketing strategy and brand plans for the whole of Germany, ideas generated here are often adopted across Europe.
It's not all sell, sell, sell though. We try to be responsible in everything we do - for instance, recycling as much waste as we can and using water efficiently.
Much of that work to use water responsibly is headed by our bottling partner, Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG. CCEAG (that's what we call it for short) is owned by Coca-Cola too, and takes care of producing, packaging and distributing our drinks in Germany.
