Coca-Cola in Central and Southern Europe
Over 23 countries make up our Central and Southern Europe business unit. Covering this wide area can be demanding, so we rely on a similarly wide pool of talent - around 400 people altogether.
Join this business unit and you could end up in one of our larger offices, like Athens, Bucharest, Milan, Vienna or Warsaw. We also have a presence in Belgrade, Bratislava, Budapest, Prague, Sofia, Tallinn, Zagreb and Zurich.
From Austria, Italy and Switzerland, east to the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania and south down to Greece, this vast business unit includes some of Europe's fastest-changing countries.
Reaching 218 million customers
With the job of reaching 218 million potential customers in Central and Southern Europe and responsible for 35% of our total European sales (including a big share of the continent's juice and water sales), our staff have to work closely together, mixing across offices and locations. Our approach in important areas like marketing and strategic planning is centralised, to make sure our local offices work towards the same key goals.
Indeed, brand development plans created here are sometimes adopted across Europe to keep our marketing consistent and scalable.
There are six market operations teams which help to put these strategies into practice locally. And as you'd expect, local knowledge is one of our most important assets; it allows us to bring our plans to fruition in every market, without doing things a different way each time.
Work in new places
Almost all areas of the business unit offer lots of opportunities to travel and work in new places. If you've ever wanted to get the inside track on some of the most rapidly growing countries in Europe, there are few better ways to do it.
There are also plenty of chances to take charge of important local issues, like commercial development and looking after important customers. These can be the most exciting areas to work in - football fans in our Warsaw office could end up managing our sponsorship of the UEFA 2012 European Championships, which will happen in Poland and Ukraine.
Bottling partners
We work with several bottling partners in this business unit. The largest is Coca-Cola Hellenic, but there are also a few smaller, local bottlers who produce, package and distribute our drinks.
